Introducing the last vision board playshop for Winter 2012. This time we're bringing in some Sweet Inspiration with artisanal chocolate from local favorite, French Broad Chocolate Lounge – in honor of Valentine's month. Of course, this playshop, like all others, promises some mysterious and magical processes to unleash personal insights about our individual goals and dreams. We've got a very interesting crowd lined up so please come join us if you're in the Asheville area. And, of course, the chocolate itself will be unveiled in a special love-powered ritual to be revealed on Feb 4th.

Everyone's an artist in this playshop. Guaranteed fun as you create a blueprint for success.

We had a wonderful magic-inspired playshop yesterday in Black Mountain, in a creatively-inviting room with glass doors so we could see the Swannanoa River flowing by us. Here are a few photos below.

Announcing New Vision Board Playshops for 2012

Yes, finally, after a 2-year hiatus during which I kicked butt on my own vision, I'm excited to announce two new Vision Board Playshops for 2012 in the Asheville, NC area. On Sunday, January 22, from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm, in the beautiful space in Black Mountain where my 2009 and 2010 playshops were held, 14 lucky people can join me in bringing their 2012 Vision to life with The Magic Touch 2012 Treasure Map Adventure. Yes, the secret sauce to kick off your dreams for the year will involve a little magical fun. (We're not revealing the special surprise guest for this one yet...)

And, for those of you who want to shoot straight from the heart, on Saturday, February 4th, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, we'll celebrate Valentine's month with The Chocolate Heart Passion-Powered Playshop. From amore to agape, this is your chance to let your heart be your guide and pull your passions onto the board. Yes, the secret ingredients will involve some delicious artisanal chocolate, a whole lotta love and your very own mysterious message hidden in a heart-shaped box.

We've got a backup date for snow on Saturday, Feb 18th, that may turn into a 3rd full playshop.

The playshop is $40 a person and I will be giving at least one, possibly two work scholarships per event.

In the beginning, I created a blog. The feeling of loneliness that comes with creating something new out of nothing is certainly amplified by working alone in the middle of the night.

This blog is intended to be a place to look at the concept of creating vision and dream up ways to make vision a reality (or perhaps to "capture" vision) – or just to give vision a good kick in the pants.

So here is my blog. Voila! It's pretty exciting – with this first post I have published something, thereby finally realizing a vision. And with vision, you have to start somewhere...

The Vision for the Playful Visionary probably germinated late last fall when I thought it might be fun to lead a Vision Playshop to create Vision Boards – or Treasure Maps. (I will give proper credit to the coaches who inspired the Vision Playshop idea in a later blog.) The first playshop I gave on January 9th, 2010 was so much fun it led to another one in Chapel Hill a few weeks ago, co-facilitated with my friend Stephanie Anderson Ladd, a high priestess of Soul Collage and inspiring artist/visionary herself. And now I'm planning another playshop here in the Asheville area for March 13th.

And who doesn't love to play? So play with this: your vision is being realized in every moment, whether you let it happen passively or you create it with conscious intention. There is a magnetic quality to the future. As we pull it towards us it pulls us towards it. And as we move closer and closer, our vision is born over and over again.

Wrap your mind around that: in this moment, your vision is being realized. Something brought you here. So, when you stop reading this, take a breather and think about what's around the corner, or what you want to be around the corner. May your thoughts and feelings be the playdough of vision.
